Sailor Moon. Forever my childhood hero <3
Man, oh man. I've been working on this on and off since.... tuesday? I had to take a little break from commissions to keep my muse alive (so sorry, commissioners.... I'm getting right back on them tomorrow!) but I realized I didn't have a coloured pencil example in my gallery. Coloured pencils are my most expensive commission and the reason why is how freaking LONG they take me to finish! Hell, I think just the background and butterflies took me almost a whole day. Yes, I work slowly.... so sorry... But here she is! Coloured in prismacolor coloured pencils which were really quite fun to use. It was kind of like a blast from my past since for a LONG LONG LONG time that's all I used for colouring. I daresay my technical skill has improved some since then.... haha. Unfortunately my scanner kind of killed the colours.... it looks MUCH prettier in real life but I did my best to clean it up in Photoshop...!
Anyway, Super Sailor Moon here in a blend of her manga and anime uniform. I love how Naoko uses a gradient on her skirt and collar... it's really too bad the anime couldn't do it. But back in those days it would have been ridiculously expensive to try and do it I suppose. But still. I tried to pay tribute to both the anime and manga styles here. Super Sailor Moon is still my favourite of her uniforms <3
The title isn't very creative, I know. Named after the always recognizable opening song, ムーンライト伝説 or "Moonlight Legend" in English.
I had a ton of fun drawing it, I hope you all enjoy looking at it too!
Also, thinking of selling the original... anyone wanna make an offer on it?
