Guh...

Okay, I put off uploading this because I absolutely DESPISE how it turned out. But OH WELL.

This is Ellurielle Moonlyre, my character for ~direndria's DnD campaign, Chronicles of Iryshka. It's a modified DnD game that takes place in the world of her novel.

My character here is an Avian. That's a creature who's sort of... mostly elf but part bird. Ellurielle here is a blue jay variety. I chose to be a blue jay because blue jays are very special to me. They're my good luck charm. I love them so. So anyway. Since Ellurielle's such a pretty songbird she's a bard, which is interesting for me since I've never played a bard before! So yay!

I love the character, but unfortunately I hate how the picture looks. I couldn't do anything to make the composition interesting and I couldn't think of a better background than the one it has. SO MUCH BLUE. Also, the wings. OH THE WINGS. I think I spent as much time on the wings as I did on the rest of the picture. I studied so many different photos of blue jays in an effort to try and get the colouring and patterns down, but I still failed. They still don't look lik blue jay wings. FAIL. I think I might just do some colouring studies of blue jay wings. Any thoughts on how to make them look more accurate with my stylized way of drawing wings?
