In case you didn't know, I'm hosting a weekly fanart challenge. Check out the journal for the specifics, but basically each week a new fanart prompt is chosen for fanart to be drawn of. This week, the prompt was Revolutionary Girl Utena, which is probably my favourite anime series ever (or tied with Sailor Moon. Hm.) I decided to re draw an old piece because I loved the concept but the picture itself was old and icky. So I drew a better one. Inspired by the song Dead Gardens by Nightwish (WHO I JUST SAW IN CONCERT AND WERE FUCKING AMAAAAZING.) The lyrics always reminded me of a dark, morbid Utena setting, so there you are. There are some things about the piece that bother me, but I worked hard on it, so I'm happy with it. Enjoy! |
